Using WS_FTP to Publish Your Webpages
- Download and install WS_FTP at http://www.download.com.
- Open WS_FTP, and enter your profile information as
shown below. Click OK.
Note: Substitute your email account number
for #####.

- The left side of the window represents your hard drive,
and the right side represents your web space on the claytonstate server. To
make a directory in your web space for images, click on the MkDir
button.

- Enter the desired folder name, and click OK.
Note: It is recommended that you create an images folder. Be careful to
create the same folders on your web space as you have created in the web on
your hard drive.

The newly created folder will appear on the right side
of the window, as shown below.

- To send files to your web space, double click on the
green arrow located on the left side of the window to navigate to the folder
on your hard drive which contains your web pages. Select the files that you
want to transfer, and then click on the right arrow button. Note:
To select multiple consecutive files, hold down the Shift key while clicking
on the first and last files. To select multiple non-consecutive files, hold
down the Ctrl key while clicking on he files.

The selected files will be transferred to your web
space, as shown below.

- To send files that are contained within subfolders
to your web space, navigate to the subfolder on the hard drive side
(left) of the window, double click on the subfolder on the web space side
(right) of the window, select the files on the left that you want to
transfer, and click on the right arrow key.

The selected files will be transferred to your web
space, as shown below.

- To view the transferred files, open Internet
Explorer, enter http://student.claytonstate.net/~csu#####
(substitute your email account number for #####), and press the Enter key on
your keyboard.
