Honors Program

The Honors Program Scholarship is Clayton State University’s main academic scholarship for entering freshman. In addition to receiving up to $5,000, students selected for the limited number of Honors Program scholarships enjoy a wide array of benefits including special course sections reserved for Honors students, priority registration, mentoring, career planning, and opportunities for leadership and travel. All honors students participate in the Honors Student Association. Honors Program Scholarships may be awarded to:

• New freshmen who have a high school academic grade point average of at least 3.0 and a combined SAT score of at least 1100 (ACT 24). Significant participation in school activities is also required. The scholarship for entering freshmen has a value of $5,000 for students who remain in the program for four years, including $1,000 for the first semester a student enrolls at Clayton State University and $500 for each subsequent semester.

• Currently enrolled students and transfer students who have at least a 3.25 grade point average on all college work attempted and no more than 35 hours of college credit. Currently enrolled and transfer students selected receive a $500 scholarship for each semester they remain in the program.
